LinkAV MANET Radio
Weihai Maritime Safety Administration
40NM (74KM) Distance Test Report
Test Date: June 30, 2024
1. Test Purpose
Currently, the Weihai Maritime Safety Administration has a Ro-Ro ship (Ship Name: ZHAOSHANG301) operating within a 40 nautical mile route. The ship is relatively far from the shore, and it is necessary to transmit the ship's surveillance video to the shore. Additionally, the ship requires network coverage to support internet access for computers and mobile phones on board. For this test, MANET radios are selected to extend the shore-based 4G network to the ship via the MANET radio link, and to transmit the ship's surveillance video to the shore. The test aims to verify whether the MANET bandwidth and speed can meet the crew's internet needs and to test the shore's ability to view the ship's camera footage.

2.3 Test Organization
Weihai Maritime Safety Administration (Short as Weihai MSA)
LinkAV Technology Co., Ltd (Short as LinkAV)
Weihai MSA Shore Side:
Mr. Hu Guoan, Test Engineer of LinkAV
Mr. Huang, Director of Weihai MSA
ZHAOSHANG301 Ship Side:
Mr. Yang Zhiyu, Test Engineer of LinkAV
Mr. Du, Chief Engineer of Weihai MSA
3. Test Method
Network Diagram is as follows:
One laptop connected to the MANET9201 device is placed on the rooftop of the Chengshantou Maritime Base, and another laptop connected to the MANET9201 is placed on the deck of the ZHAOSHANG301 ship at sea.
1) Using iperf3, connect the laptop on the shore as the server, and the laptop on the ZHAOSHANG301 ship as the client to stream to the shore, testing the throughput.
2) Use data rate testing software on the ZHAOSHANG301 ship to test the internet speed of this link.
3) Use the shore side laptop to view the IPCam video of the ZHAOSHANG301 ship.
4. Test Scenario
Two locations:
1) Rooftop of Chengshantou Maritime Base Building, Weihai MSA (Shore Side)
Approximately 60 meters above sea level.
2) On the deck of ZHAOSHANG301 ship (Ship Side)
Approximately 35 meters above sea level.
5. Test Process
